Primary Therapist - Rise in Malibu
Dr. Raymond Nourmand is a licensed clinical psychologist and therapist specializing in treating clients struggling with addiction, anxiety, relationship problems and more. He gets to the root causes of clients’ issues, offering them striking clarity and insight, and empowering them with the tools they need to live life with confidence.
Dr. Raymond earned his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D in Psychology and brings a wealth of experience and expertise in addiction treatment and mental health to Rise in Malibu. At Rise, he leads individual therapy sessions, couples sessions, family sessions, and group sessions. He works with clients in a highly integrative manner, bringing a refreshingly direct, engaging, and supportive approach, compassionately guiding them to understand how they got to their state in the first place. He maintains that clients are not crazy for having psychological and emotional issues. Instead, he holds that they are hurt. He believes when clients understand why they are the way they are, it is easier to make lasting changes and establish strong sobriety.
Finally, Dr. Raymond has taught several psychology courses at the university level, is a nationally sought-after psychology professional, and practices psychology in several states across the United States. He was featured in the book, Is Therapy Right For Me? Top Experts Reveal the Truth About Psychology and Your Mental Health (2015), and authored an award-winning book for parents and children, I Feel Better Now (2022).
In his free time, Dr. Raymond likes to read, write, listen to music, and workout.
