Michael Pierce, LMFT is a trauma-trained psychotherapist who has been working directly with substance use treatment in residential, PHP and IOP settings since 2016. Prior to earning his M. S. degree in Psychology and Counseling from CSUN, he graduated with a B.A. and M. A. in Communications from Rowan University.
Beyond private practice, his experience includes work with veteran’s transitioning from military to civilian life, incarcerated men, and mixed-gender folks on personal growth journeys.
At Rise in Malibu, Michael brings his heart-centered orientation and mindfulness-based approach as he supports those on their path of discovery, self-empowerment and sobriety. He is certified in EMDR therapy and level 1 internal family systems (IFS); trained in IFS-informed EMDR therapy. He is also adjunct faculty in CSUN’s graduate MFT program.
